upholsterers

The Upholsterers came about when someone left the old chair in my studio and the vision came of these figures working away to reupholster it. I used the materials of upholstery: the cloth, wire and horse hair stuffing to make the figures. The process of creating these scenes very much took me over, I had such an emersion in the world I was creating, the characters and conversations between them along with the endless number of scenarios I could imagine totally consumed me.
